My Predictions

Sports                     (Yes)
Need For Speed       (Yes)
Plants Vs Zombies    (No)

EA's E3 was a small surprise, it had everything you'd expect from them, Sports and Star Wars. But they ended up giving us a look at 2 new IP's that stood out, A Way Out and Anthem

A Way Out looks like a fun co op action experience akin to Kane and Lynch. Although the "always split screen" mechanic doesn't look appealing to me.  Isn't playing online really the solution to dealing with split screen?  Either way, it doesn't effect my interest in the game. As long as i can find a co op partner, since the game cannot be played in single player.

Anthem, While not giving much information on the game a EA's conference, was given a dive into gameplay during Microsoft's E3. The game looked great and reminded me of what a modern Dark Void would look like.

Need for Speed: Payback also had a presence at the show with much less of a racing game vibe. It had more of a high speed action appearance to the game this time. Complete with enemy cars that have health bars.

My Predictions

Forza Motorsport 7                (Yes)
Cuphead                               (Yes)
Crackdown 3                         (Yes)
State of Decay 2                   (Yes)
Sea of Theives                      (Yes)
Remedy New Game               (No)
Shadow of the Tomb Raider   (No)

Microsoft's E3 was disappointing for me. After the cancellation of Scalebound months ago, Microsoft responded with a damage control statement saying that Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Halo Wars 2 and Sea of Thieves would all launch 2017.  During the conference however, State of Decay and Sea of Thieves were confirmed to now be launching in 2018. State of Decay 2 was easily one of my top games of 2017, so i was sad to see it delayed.

Forza Motorsport 7 lead the show showing off the power of the Scorpion (Xbox One X). It honestly looked like any other current gen game to me.

Most of the other games shown were either exclusive indie side scrollers or 3rd party games such as Metro, Anthem, Assassins Creed (Which was shown way too much, given that we saw it again at Ubisoft's conference.) There was no Halo news, and no game that looked any bit interesting to me, other than Crackdown and State of Decay.

The Scorpio, now known as Xbox One X, looked much like the Playstation Pro. A slight difference in the console i already own, so i don't ever plan on getting the X. The price is no help either. It's being priced $100 more than it's competitor (PS4 Pro) which is the same mistake Xbox made from the beginning of this generation.

Crackdown 3 gets a 2017 November date though!  Let's hope it's not delayed...

Bethesda
_________

My Predictions

Quake            (Yes)
Fallout VR       (Yes)
Evil Within 2   (Yes)
Elder Scrolls    (Yes)

Bethesda's E3 wasn't too exciting, but then again i don't think many people were expecting it to be. Almost all of what was shown has already released with VR support and/or DLC added to the game.

Quake made another appearance here with gameplay footage. I'm not into the multiplayer online only games so it's not something i'm looking forward to, but i'm sure it was to those who like that genre.

Once it neared the end, Bethesda did finally reveal The Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. These may even be the only 2 new games shown here. The Evil Within is one of my top 3 games now. It was everything i hoped it would be. Sebastian is back, the combat is there, and it's sticking to the third person over the shoulder style from the original. They didn't go for a First Person VR experiment like Capcom did with Resident Evil 7, which is great.

My Predictions

Far Cry 5                        (Yes)
The Crew 2                     (Yes)
Just Dance 2018             (Yes)
New IPs                          (Yes)
Assassin's Creed Origins   (Yes)

Ubisoft had one of the best conferences this year. They lead their show with the surprising Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, a game i thought would certainly show up at Nintendo's Direct. While the Rabbids are annoying and in my opinion, a bad choice for a crossover, It's an interesting game that looks to give a Mario and Luigi RPG type game finally on a home console. Although, i don't entirely understand the battle system yet. It kinda looks like Fire Emblem meets XCOM in their own ways.

Ubisoft then continued to show us the games promised, such as The Crew 2. I'm not a big racing game fan so i don't know what to think of this one. Of all racing games outside of Mario Kart, i'd have to say EA's Need for Speed looks best to me.

Far Cry 5 gave us a look into gameplay as well as seemingly confirming co op campaign, or at least i hope so.

More Assassin's Creed Origins was obviously shown, it does look pretty much like the same thing again, but at least the setting is much different this time. Combat does look improved too.

At the end of the show, Ubisoft brings out the big guns with their "one last thing" moment, revealing that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is coming.

The new IPs shown i think were some of the weakest points from the conference, usually Ubisoft ends with a big new AAA game but they really held back on it this year. This was probably done in favor of announcing the long awaited Beyond Good and Evil 2.

South Park - ZZZzzz....

Oh and Just Dance 2018 was there..    ...Yay?

Sony
______

My Predictions

God of War                (Yes)
Days Gone                 (Yes)
Call of Duty                (Yes)
Uncharted 4 DLC        (Yes)
Knack                         (No)
From Software            (No)
Death Stranding          (No)
Sucker Punch              (No)
Gran Turismo: Sport    (No)
Crash N. Sane Trilogy   (No)

Too. Much. VR.  and too many 2018 games.

Sony always ends up being the most disappointing for me, because they have so many great series that they just don't use and will never release the games they currently have. Every E3, Sony just keeps showing us the same games over and over again. They end up either never getting release dates, or being delayed year after year. My PS4 will be collecting dust for many years to come.  This year was a complete recap of last years Sony E3 exclusive wise, and none of them are coming this year.

Uncharted 4's DLC - looked fun but again this isn't a "New game" the same thing applies to Horizon's DLC.

God of War looked great again, but i was disappointed with the 2018 release, as well as the fact it doesn't seem to be as combat heavy as the original games. The platforming appears to be completely removed too, i don't think there is even a jump button in this one. The giant boss comes in at the end but from the dialogue, we won't be climbing the top to murder it.  It will be helping Kratos instead.  ...Yay?

Days Gone gave us another look at a small section of the game's story. The amount of zombies on screen appear to have had a massive decrease which i fully expected. After the demo, Sony gave no release. So i'm assuming 2018 or 2019

Detroit has never looked very good to me. That's probably because i don't believe they can possibly beat Beyond Two Souls. So i may be giving it a much harder time than it deserves.  (Again, no release date. Guessing 2018)

Monster Hunter World got a full gameplay demo at the show. I don't think this will be exclusive to the PS4 and i hoenstly thought this was From Software's new game before the Dinosaurs showed up.

Shadow of the Colossus - Another remaster.  As if we need more of these.    (Again... 2018)

Destiny 2 - ZZZzzzz....

Call of Duty: WWII was given a trailer here. I myself preferred the Call of Duty futuristic games, but i know this was a big complaint. Activision appears to be listening to fans with it.

Then there was a huge section of VR, which i find pointless since you probably can't play any of these without a $400 VR accessory for your already bought $200 to $400 PS4. That's an awful lot to invest in those not so good games.

The show ends with Spider Man, this feels like a waste of Insomniac's time. We could get another Ratchet and Clank. Even a new IP. Spider Man is meant to be a 3rd party character, it doesn't seem fair to have him only on PS4. Regardless of that, this game along with mostly everything else Playstation, is a 2018 game.

Also a side note, Where is Sucker Punch?  Do they even exist at Sony anymore? Whatever is happening, it doesn't sound good.

Nintendo
_________

Arms                                          (Yes)
Splatoon 2                                  (Yes)
New Metroid                               (Yes)
Super Mario Odyssey                   (Yes)
Fire Emblem Warriors                  (Yes)
Wii U Ports (Pokken)                    (Yes)
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle   (Yes)
Super Smash Bros.                       (No)

Nintendo comes out and surprises me. I thought because of how short the length was (25 to 30 mintues), they would focus too much on 3DS and already announced games such as Arms and Splatoon. But they actually didn't show any 3DS games at all. It's about time they focus on Switch.

There were a few moments they gave us a look at old or already released games. Arms, Splatoon, Breath of the Wild DLC, Skyrim, Rocket Leauge and so on.

For the most part though, We got new never before seen announcements. There's a new Kirby for Switch. While it looks like the typical side scroller Kirby that we've gotten the last 3 to 4 games. At least it's a new Switch game.

There's also a Yoshi for Switch. Similar to Kirby, it follows the same formula as the last Yoshi game. This time they've made it look like Little Big Planet, and Yoshi is furry for some reason.

Pokemon is actually getting a new core Switch game too, Unfortunately no other information was given at all.

The long awaited Metroid Prime 4 for Switch is happening as well. Much like the Pokemon announcement, they did exactly what i predicted.  They gave us the proof it is real, then no more information at all.

The rest were updates for games that had been previously announced at other E3's/Directs. They gave us a story look with gameplay for Fire Emblem Warriors with a 2017 release.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 also got the same treatment as Fire Emblem Warriors, complete with a 2017 release date.  Although i'm going to predict one of the two will be delayed to 2018, and it will probably be Xenoblade.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle showed up again, but they didn't waste too much time on it since Ubisoft mostly covered it. Just a small clip about it, with a reconfirmed 2017 release.  It comes in just 2 months!

Nintendo closes the show with a little game called, Super Mario Odyssey.  They managed to fool us again like last time (or at least me) by showing a dinosaur. My mind instantly went to Monster Hunter, then Mario's hat pops up and he jumps out. This trailer went in depth about the new gimmick. Mario will now be able to throw his hat onto almost anything and be able to transform/go into the object or living being and control it. It also turns the game into Grand Theft Mario since you can now drive cars.  Again, Nintendo managed to give us the thing we wanted, a 2017 release date.

What really takes the comedy gold here is Master Chief's facepalm :D
